Being only a third of the way visible, Stone Mountain is known for being the world’s biggest fragment of exposed granite- formed mainly underground and eroded over millions of years. From the peak of the mountain, you can see beyond 40 miles in good weather.
Another point of interest is the Songbird Habitat, which was used in the 1996 Olympics for their cycling and archery competitions. Speaking of the 1996 Olympics, take a ride on the Summit Skyride, which was used to transport the Olympic Torch.
